Stage Pumps

Multistage pumps are used in installations where a high head is needed. Several stages are connected in series and the flow is guided from the outlet of one stage to the inlet of the next. The final head that a multistage pump can deliver is equal to the sum of pressure each of the stages can provide.

Multistage pumps are made up of several impellers and diffusers that are connected in series along the pump’s casing. The first impeller creates a low pressure at its outlet that is then increased as it passes through the diffusers and other impellers in the series, thus making it possible to reach the desired head.
